Five minutes in the library today, and I culled three potential gems--I can hardly wait. I've already started in on two of them, and I feel, rather thrillingly, knee-deep in books! Reviews will follow...
Oh Alyssa, I am so thrilled you're reading the Elizabeth Peters and Shannon Hale. You have two delightful reads ahead of you! I swear, I've read Crocodile on the Sandbank upwards of 20 times - Amelia Peabody is the ultimate heroine.
Also, just Amazon checked Time of My Life - it looks so intriguing! If you like it, it's definitely going on the old TBR pile.
Hey Mary, I'm loving the Elizabeth Peters novel so far--Amelia Peabody is truly a plucky heroine! And The Actor and the Housewife has piqued my interest in its first few pages too! (I really enjoyed Austenland).
The Amelia Peabody series is one of my absolutely favourites! Amelia is a very lucky lady, and just wait until the later books when you meet another male character and he grows up! Sigh!
I have a bit of a crush on Jane Austen. Enough of one that my humorous women's fiction novel features her as a character--kinda, sorta. I'm repped by Rebecca Strauss of McIntosh & Otis and AUSTEN-TATIOUS will be published by Kensington Books in Feb 2012. I'll keep you posted.
(fyi...I self-published my first book, a Regency historical entitled UNLADYLIKE PURSUITS, in case you were curious)
I only review books I'd like to recommend. In general, I do not receive ARC's or requests for reviews. Should there be an exception to this rule, I will specify.

I always get a little too ambitious on my trips to the library. There are too many books to read!
